about
A spherical surface and a plane surface separated by an air gap can be used in reflection as a two waves interferometer. The fringes have a ring shape and are localized close to the reflecting surfaces. The page calculates the radius of a dark fringe as a function of the radius of curvature of the spherical surface, the gap between the surfaces, the wavelength and the fringe number counted from the center.
