about
For a birefringent plate made of an uniaxial material with the optical axis parallel to the facets, calculates the phase shift between the slow and fast axis as a function of the plate thickness and the refraction indexes along the slow and fast axis. It is supposed that the medium is uniaxial and that the light wave propagates along the extraordinary axis. The slow and fast axis correspond to the polarization directions for which the refraction index is respectively the ordinary index (no) and the extraordinary index (ne) if no > ne or the extraordinary index and the ordinary index if ne > no.
